Baroque opera in Tenerife

The Munich-based period-instrument ensemble took part in Ópera de Tenerife’s production of Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice on 22 and 23 January 2026 in the Sala Sinfónica of the Auditorio de Tenerife. Jordi Francés led the musical direction, with Johannes Berger as ensemble conductor. The staging and choreography were created by Pep Ramis and María Muñoz / Mal Pelo.

Part of the theatrical language

Concerto München formed an integral part of the production’s theatrical language. While the main body of the ensemble performed from the pit, musicians were also incorporated into the stage action, connecting Gluck’s eighteenth-century score with the production’s contemporary movement and visual language.

Two sold-out performances

The cast featured Teresa Iervolino as Orfeo, Ana Vieira Leite as Euridice and Mira Alkhovik as Amore, together with the Coro Titular Ópera de Tenerife–Intermezzo. Both performances, on 22 and 23 January at 19:30, were sold out.
