Huw Wiggin joins Parera Management

Parera Management is delighted to welcome Huw Wiggin to its roster. The British saxophonist has earned international recognition for his expressive playing, commanding technique and adventurous approach to repertoire. Equally at home as a soloist and chamber musician, he brings to the agency a distinctive artistic profile built around compelling performances, creative collaborations and a commitment to new music.

A distinctive presence on the concert stage

Huw has performed in major venues around the world, including London’s Wigmore Hall and Royal Albert Hall and the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing. Following his debut at London’s Purcell Room, The Times praised his “liquid gold tones and enviable breath control”. His performances have brought the expressive range of the classical saxophone to audiences across different musical traditions and concert settings.

A First Prize and Gold Medal winner at the Royal Over-Seas League Annual Music Competition, he was also named Commonwealth Musician of the Year. These distinctions helped launch a career characterised by recital appearances, major chamber-music projects and collaborations with fellow musicians who share his curiosity and openness to new artistic possibilities.

Recordings that explore the saxophone’s possibilities

His debut album Reflections, recorded with pianist John Lenehan for Orchid Classics, reached No. 2 in the UK Specialist Classical Chart and drew praise from BBC Music Magazine for his “dazzling flair and imagination”. He followed this with Rhapsody (2023), a recording with pianist Noriko Ogawa that further revealed the colour and versatility of his instrument.

In 2026, Huw released Elements, an album created with harpist Oliver Wass. Combining six new commissions with Baroque works arranged for saxophone and harp, the project reflects his interest in unexpected instrumental partnerships and in building connections between historical music and the repertoire of today.

Chamber music and contemporary creation

An enthusiastic advocate for living composers, Huw has commissioned and collaborated with artists including Joseph Phibbs, Laura Bowler, Charlotte Harding, Yshani Perinpanayagam, Andy Scott, David Wallace and Simon Rowland-Jones. Through these partnerships, he contributes actively to the continuing development of the saxophone’s concert repertoire.

Huw performs regularly with Oliver Wass and is a member of the award-winning Ferio Saxophone Quartet. The ensemble has recorded three albums with Chandos Records and performed widely in the United Kingdom and internationally, including appearances at Wigmore Hall, the Purcell Room and the Bermuda Festival. His other collaborations have included pianist Oxana Shevchenko and St Martin’s Voices.

Teaching and future projects

Alongside his performance career, Huw is Professor of Saxophone at the Royal Academy of Music, where he helps develop the next generation of artists. He also works as a guest tutor in the United Kingdom and abroad. In April 2026 he was awarded an Honorary ARAM by the Academy, recognising his professional achievements. He is supported by Selmer and Vandoren Paris.

We are very pleased to begin this new collaboration and look forward to supporting Huw’s international concert activity, chamber-music partnerships and imaginative repertoire projects. His combination of musical refinement, communicative energy and creative ambition makes him an exciting addition to Parera Management.
