Parera Management is delighted to welcome Czech conductor František Macek to its artist roster. With a vibrant musical personality, an expanding international career and a strong commitment to building lasting relationships with orchestras, Macek represents a distinctive voice among the new generation of European conductors.

An international career shaped by musical curiosity

Praised for the energy and intensity of his interpretations, Macek has established a versatile artistic profile across symphonic and chamber-orchestra repertoire. His collaborations include the Prague Symphony Orchestra, PKF – Prague Philharmonia, Brno Philharmonic and Janáček Philharmonic Ostrava, alongside international engagements with the Orquesta de Valencia, Opéra Orchestre National Montpellier, Wiener Concert-Verein, Sinfonietta Cracovia and other European ensembles.

A significant early step came when he won the NOSPR International Conducting Competition in Katowice, leading to work as Assistant Conductor with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra. In 2021 he also appeared at the Prague Spring Festival conducting the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, further strengthening his presence on the Czech and international concert scene.

Artistic leadership and collaboration

Macek’s work extends beyond the podium. Since 2020, he has served as Artistic Director of the Music in the Gardens and Château Kroměříž festival, developing programmes in a historic setting associated with the UNESCO-listed gardens and château. His relationship with the Slovak Sinfonietta in Žilina has likewise been an important part of his artistic path, following the recognition he received at the Allegretto Žilina festival in 2021.

Educated at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Macek has pursued a broad musical education encompassing orchestral and choral conducting, organ and early music. Among the conductors who have influenced his development is Manfred Honeck, alongside encounters with Bernard Haitink, David Zinman, Robert Spano and Daniele Gatti.

Looking ahead

We look forward to supporting František Macek’s future orchestral partnerships, festival projects and artistic development. His work combines thoughtful preparation with a direct, expressive approach to music-making—a compelling foundation for the next stages of his career.

František maintains his strategic international management relationship with Eleanor Hope, while Parera Management contributes to the development and coordination of his artistic projects. We are pleased to begin this collaboration with a shared long-term perspective.
